Busy and buried under boxes of scrapping stuff!

Just one day Black layout Just one day diamond layout

Sharing a couple of sample layouts from the "All this and More in just 1 DAY" class at Scrapcamp. Like the embellishments? I designed those especially for the class and some of the girls at Scrapcamp totally created mini artworks with them, love to see pics if anyone has them!

Wow, been so busy the past few weeks, and now with only 3 days to go till Girls Day Out here in Palmerston North, I am almost buried under boxes of scrap goodies that will be going into goodie bags, we are almost full up but if you want to come along for the day or even a few hours, email me quick for DD payment details. The goodie bags alone are now worth $60+ value, not to mention the delicious catering, demonstrations and free make and take projects that we have organised. This is going to be a real head spinning day!

A reminder of details for those coming along -

Date - Saturday 21st June 2008

Time - 1.00pm til 9.00pm

Place -

Russell Street School Hall

              Russell Street (Tremaine Avenue end)

              Palmerston North.

Please drive on into the school grounds, park on the netball courts or there is a ramp at the rear of the main building if required.

A few things that may be helpful for you.

This is time for you to work on your own pages and get some serious scrapping done, we can keep you pretty busy but it’s a great idea to plan ahead and have a few pages or projects organized that you may wish to complete on the day. You are welcome to come and go on the day as you wish.
Our goodie bags are increasing in value and will have products and services in excess of $60.00...not bad for $35 ticket eh! Call your friends it's worth them coming along for just a few hours at that price!

We also suggest that you might want to bring along the following in order to participate in some of the projects we will have organised.
  • A 5x7" portrait style photo. Black and white Girl or Ladies photo (sticking with the theme of the day!) for the Step by Step Class.
  • 5 or 6 other assorted photos you'd like to Scrap any orientation.
Make sure that all photos are reprintable (DON'T use precious one off or Heritage Photos)

Tools to bring

The following items are tools for Papercrafting most of these are inexpensive and will be available for sale on the day but if you have them at home, bring them along

  • Craft /Self Healing Mat
  • Cutting equipment (eg: craft knife/trimmer or scissors)
  • Adhesives (we recommend Henzo (available at Epics or Scrapbook Alley in Palmerston North or Kiwi Scraps in Wellington) or double sided tape, photo tabs or a glue stick can also be purchased on the day)
  • Paint mats & trays if paints are your thing
Pencil
  • Ruler (Steel prefered)
  • Black or Pinecone Ink Pad
There will be a good selection of new scrapbooking items available for sale/order on the day as well as a raffle, remember to bring along a few pennies!

If you have any questions at all please don’t hesitate to give me a call on 06 355 1928 or drop me an email at kellyrotherham@xtra.co.nz

Well this getting back to a regular office job is really cool, it's nice when you can walk out the door and work is finished for the day. Actually getting properly dressed for work each day is a good thing too, no more slovenly behaviour, cleaning the house in PJ's at 11am. (Actually that never really happened during the week and actually I always try to avoid housework on the weekend so I am telling fibs.) Eats into my regular catchup time with online folks though!

So SCRAPCAMP, gosh was that 2 weeks ago, where did that time go. Huge thanks to Yolande and Lianne for asking me to come, loved meeting everyone who attended, there is some awesome talent in the NZ scrapbooking community and I thoroughly enjoyed soaking in the good vibes for the weekend. Rotorua did not even smell too bad for the whole weekend, though they really need to declare the Pack'n'Save carpark and surrounding roads a disaster zone, how anyone get's out of there alive I just don't know. There were some fantastic scrapbooking supplies available for sale at Scrapcamp this year and I am at this very moment wondering what lucky photos are going to get to share some space with the fabulous chandelier transparency I bought home.

Apart from real work the past two weeks, and feeling like a success because I can see the bottom of my ironing basket this week..YAY!  I have been busy organising "Girls Day Out" Here in Palmy on the 21st June. We are currently awaiting delivery of some fantastic prizes and products for our goodie bags, looks like they will be worth at least $30 each and as the tickets are only $35, reckon that it's well worth the trip to Palmy for the day.   A full afternoon / evening of cropping, sit in on a class if you wish, delicious food, demonstrations by various sponsors, what more could a girl want! Click here for more details http://kellyrotherham.typepad.com/tutorials_/girls-day-out.html

Leave you with a few fav picsWish sm Bling sm

What the web and actually this is my all time fav layout for now, did it ages ago and SM asked to publish it, kept it for 5 months and then said that they did not want  publish it and sent it back....go figure. At least I got this one back, there are at least 5 others gone astray in the last year along with their payments. No wonder I cant be bothered submitting atm.

After many rounds of creating class after class I am looking forward to just having some Scrappy fun, roll on Girls Day Out!

    Just some sneaky peeks!

Album_6 Img_8936 Mudslide_1 Pony_ride_1 Topsy_turvy_1 For details of this Months Scrapbook Essentials Kit - Urban Rhapsody click here  This months kit is a brilliant mixture of co-ordinated papers and embellishments suitable for any pages and projects. Also very worthwhile getting is the Add on kit, great value and filled with the most gorgeous embellishments that compliment the Kit. I had the kit for only 5 days and did 5 layouts and a mini album, and still there is lots more still to use on other projects.

So much been happening around here with Birthdays, parties, the Bulldozer starting school, and Dad visiting, no time to get it all down cause I'm in the middle of prep for SCRAPCAMP in Rotorua, Can't wait, will be fab!  Will try an update sometime soon.

Thanks also to everyone who has done the Mothers Day Album classes with me pre Mothers day. Hope that you all got them completed and that they were well appreciated. Got to tell all just quickly about my Mothers day present from the Bulldozer, he went out and bought me a TOOTHBRUSH. Not really sure why but it is a battery one and I do like those while they keep running. (I do keep finding him with it though so not really sure who he thinks he bought it for.) Ah well, breakfast in bed with the Princess was nice too as we had to Share our day together, she turned 9 (going on 16) on Sunday. They do grow up tooo quickly eh!

    Classes back up and running....

Thank you all for your patience, The good news is that all the classes that were in place before the "Password improvement" was installed are now accessible. I have now tested everything for the 1000th time and your passwords will be emailed out this morning, if you don't receive it in an email, please firstly check your junk emails for it and then email me.

The bad news (well not so bad) is the New "Pages for girls" Class cannot be accessed via the normal website links, however I will email your link directly to you for this one and any subsequent new classes until they do get this password thing fixed properly.

Thank you so much for your patience on this delay. Lovely of so many of you to have sympathised over the frustration I've had with it.

Please feel free to vent your frustration at the delay in an email so that I can forward it on, might get them moving on it a bit quicker.

    Have a good day!

    World turned upside down!

Ok so today I am torn, my world has been flipped upside down. But before I get into that, here's a couple of sneak peeks of this months Scrapbook Essentials "Flocked & Fabulous Kit" This flocked paper is divine, so luxurious to work with and photo's do not do it justice. Check out the link to see the full kit pictures and check the gallery for all the pic's later today.

I saw the princess off on her School camp today, she is a year 4 in a 5/6 class so a fair bit younger than all her classmates, but I was so very proud of her, up dressed and rearing to go today, full of confidence when there were several others nearly in tears (mostly parents I might add). Normally giving me grief on most fronts, and with food and a couple of other allergies as well, I tried to be super orgainsed Mum and get all her snacks/medication etc sorted efficiently. I was proud to be her mother today as she waved goodbye and set off on the big adventure for 4 days.Img_8603 Img_8619 Img_8621

In complete contrast, The Bulldozer although full on active, is usually a kindhearted and well mannered boy esp in the classroom. Had his first Orientation morning in his new school class as he starts next month. There is only one word to describe him today FERAL!!!!!! He went out to play before school and punched a kid in the arm, Could not sit still for a minute, interrupted everyone all the time, and basically left no-one in any doubt that he was seriously grumpy. Not a good start! Then after morning tea, teacher says that they usually settle down when their parents leave, so I happily went off to the staff room for the rest of the morning only to find at lunchtime he tells me how much more trouble he'd been in and then catagorically stated that "I don't like this school!"  I fought very hard not to reply with "They aren't going to like you much either!"  The old excuses of being tired etc that I would normally attribute to his sister just don't stack up today and so it's just one of those days!

Also had the big 50th birthday party for my Fab SIL Beth, it was a dress up party, she does not usually get around in a Caftan sporting a black wig!Img_8584 Img_8577 Was really fun HPAAY BIRTHDAY BETH!

I made up a little album celebrating 50 years, sorry, no photos of it though, just forgot!

Also thought you might like a laugh at my expense...Img_8582

Well it was themed "50 years" and so the idea was to come dressed from one of the decades that Beth's been around, we had a fair representation I think and pulling this old costume out of mothballs I discovered that actually my waist is only about 2 inches bigger than when I was Eighteen only now it's 2 inches higher as well. Ah well, I have fond memories of having a waist the same size as Scarlett O'Hara in "Gone with the Wind" and that's pretty much what's happened to my waist size (not to mention hips, thighs and bust) in the last 20 years too, gone with the wind......

    Gremlins attacking!

So sorry if you are trying to access one of the online classes today, there appear to be gremlins in the webserver system. I only just found that they have made a major change to the password system I use for the classes which unfortunately has a bug in the system! I will update as soon as possible when this is fixed.

    April fools!

Wanna hear something funny. Unfortunately I was not quick enough to get pictures this morning, but the bulldozer (4), normally the first one awake in the mornings was heard to be screeching at 5.45am this morning as he looked in the bathroom mirror to find that his dear sister the Princess (8) had during the wee small hours drawn with a marker pen all over his face!  She had also put salt in our toothpaste and a surprise in the wheetbix box!
